Types Of Wines To Find At Maugle Sierra Vineyards

At Maugle Sierra Vineyards, the tasting room is a cozy, inviting space where you can enjoy the company of other wine enthusiasts as well as relax by the fireplace.

They serve appetizers if you need something savory to pair with your wine. That is to say, the best wines that you’ll find at Maugle Sierra Vineyards are:

  • Chardonnay
  • Cabernet Franc
  • Rendez Vous White
  • Ledyard Rose and Red
  • Sunset Red, made from Syrah grapes

The grapes grown here are French varieties but the vineyard is too young to produce wines entirely made from those vines. To make up for this, their Rendevous white wine is a sweet blend that is surprisingly delightful.

Chardonnay is a hearty grape that will thrive in any climate with adequate water and clay soils.

On the other hand, Cabernet Franc can grow just about anywhere as long as the soil is well-drained and nutritionally poor.

The soils in Connecticut tend to be Windsor and, therefore, very drained, which is an advantage for the types of grapes planted here and the final results when it comes to wine.

To talk more about their wines, the Espiritu de St. Croix is a red wine that you can’t leave without trying. The staff will serve it to you in an edible chocolate shot glass which will create a blend that is unique to Maugle Sierra Vineyards.

Last but not least, their Seduction red wine is rich and makes a delicious dessert drink. The premium grapes used to make the alcohol are smooth in texture and it certainly reflects in their bottles.
